We are specialist construction law solicitors based in North Worcestershire, South of Birmingham.  Our clients are mainly based in the Midlands, but we also act for clients across the Country including in the North and in London.

Hickman Construction Law was established in 2019 by Andrew Hickman and Anthony Page and specialises solely in providing construction law services to businesses involved in the Construction Industry.

Andrew and Anthony have previously held very senior positions in construction law departments at large International Law Firms. They have combined experience and expertise in Construction Law of some 60 years.

Most of our clients have instructed us on matters for several years. Our Clients comprise of Developers, Building Contractors, Specialist Subcontractors (for example, involved in Civil Engineering, Groundworks, Mechanical & Electrical, Cladding/Facades and Fit-Out), Suppliers (such as scaffolding, brickwork/panels and plant) and Professionals (such as Architects, Engineering and Quantity Surveyors).

Our Services

We specialise in assisting our clients with resolving disputes either pursuing or defending. We are experts in all forms of dispute resolution in the Construction Industry covering negotiation, Mediation, Adjudication, Pre-Action conduct under the Construction and Engineering Protocol or Litigation in the Technology and Construction Court (“TCC”). We have experience of conducting cases in the TCC for over 30 years.

We consider that the key to maximising the prospects of a successful outcome is an early and full understanding of the Contract (typically, an amended JCT contract) and the relevant technical and factual issues, documents and facts, in order to advise as to merits, options and tactics.

We also often advise our clients on non-contentious matters and risk. For example, if at tender stage there appears to be particularly onerous bespoke amendments suggested to a standard form JCT contract.
